Last night we had a fancy CPCS ladies night downtown by the river. The night started with fancy dinner & martinis and ended with flip cup.

One of my co-workers recently came on full time and to get the idea of - oh we can give her clients- stuck in our head she offered us a challenge complete with a yummy reward. Dinner on her at the yum-a-licious Yard House down by the Banks. The night evolved form dinner for four to dinner for ten+ complete with an after party at another co-workers condo that sat conveniently one block away.
I may have been extremely excited to go downtown. BUT for good reason. 1) I am 23 and never go out. My only consistent Friday event for the past few weeks has been blood-work. ick. 2) The photo above is a picture out of said coworkers window. WOW. I had dreams of taking pics from the rooftop. but by the time we got back from dinner... I didn't trust myself with my camera.
I am a huge believer in spending a whole day getting ready for a night out, which is a luxury I haven't really gotten to indulge in since high school so I may have gone all out. I started my day with a caramel machiato and walked around the mall before it opened. Some may call it Window shopping, I call it making a game plan.
I ended up opening forever 21 with them and got first dibbs at their new fall plus size pieces. I settled on a jewel toned sapphire blue shirt, tucked into a skater skirt and leggings. The sales assistant in the dressing room was awesome. She helped me decide on what to wear and validated that I can mix black and blue and NOT look like a bruise. After I settled on an outfit I carried it over to the jewelry section and picked out a ring, two necklaces and a pack of 4 pairs of earrings. All gold. It looked GREAT and I managed to only spend $50 for a complete look for the night.
Well, I would have only spend $50 if I hadn't wondered over to Torrid. I might have been distracted by a pair of $30 leggings and thought to myself "self, why in the world are these leggings $30?" I couldnt come up with a reason other than that they must be godlike. Then clever sales lady told me they were buy one get one 50%. "oh my self!" I thought "I must spend $45 on leggings" Why would I spend $45 on two pairs of leggings when I can get them for $7 from forever 21? We will never know. I did buy them though- and I will wear them a bajillion times, or until the thighs wear out. Whichever happens first.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I am a collector of moments & a lover of all the beautiful “things” in life. These include, but are not limited to; yoga pants, iced tea, cold sheets, lipstick, sunbeams and bokeh. Feel free to mosey about and become acquainted.
