I met Rosco, Miranda and her son Rory at Jacksons Florist and Garden Center in Covington Kentucky bright and early before they opened.
Miranda definitely knew that she wanted her intimate wedding, just the three of them plus a witness and officiant, to be at a garden center, but not which one when we booked her wedding. Thankfully, her local garden center that she frequents for succulents was happy to let us come in early. Thanks Jacksons Florist and Garden Center!
After their 20 minute ceremony we explored the nursery for a little bit and captured some stuning photos. Of course you cant go wrong with boys in suspenders and a in her simple black dress surrounded by colorful flowers. <3
After I definitely grabbed three new plant babies to being home and they headed out for Waffle House! My kinda morning.
Small weddings like this are my absolutely my jam! If you are ready to say I do and want to capture the moment without all of the complications definitely reach out. I will happily be that second witness. :P
I left Martin and Lauras wedding feeling like I had been invited as a friend and just brought my camera for my girl. You definitely want to check out their gorgeous wedding day in the blog below.
I met Laura and her bridal crew at Hotel Covington in northern Kentucky to capture them celebrate Laura complete with Mimosas, dresses (& a tux) that flattered everyone and a very good play list.
Forever and always swooning over first looks!
After getting ready we headed to their ceremony/reception venue The Belle Event Centre. Martin's reaction when he saw Laura for the first time was beautiful. I love my job <3
Bridal party! When you have a group this big... you're probably freaking awesome.
Can you believe that Laura's bouquet is made of wooden florals!?!?!
After cocktail hour we danced, cried, laughed, cheered and let them eat cake.
Boogie Boogie Boogie!
I met up with Gary and his partner Eli to capture their small wedding ceremony at The Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. Their family and friends surrounded them in a semi circle while they exchanged vows and rings after 8+ years of choosing each other. Intimate ceremonies and small wedding packages like the Gary and Eli's are honestly my absolute favorite.
Gary + Eli chose to have one hour of wedding coverage. This is typically the perfect amount of time for a short ceremony and portraits of the newly weds :D
While shopping around on their website I noticed they added a rose gold to their foil line, which is my FAVORITE color (is rose gold a color?), and introduced foil and clear business cards! Which is amazingly artsy and fancy and I really want one know.
If you are in the market for wedding invites I definitely recommend checking out Basic Invite and ordering a few samples to really hold them in your hand and feel good about your final order.
Last shot till we do!
Garrett & Amanda
After a private first look Amanda and Garrett had a small intimate ceremony at Pyramid Hill Sculptural Park with just their closest family, friends and their pup Charlie. They laughed the entire time they shared their vows.
After lots of hugs we went to explore the forest and take some gorgeous portraits. <3
So much love guys! You have to keep scrolling to see Charlie with their wedding rings on his nose because he is the bestest boy!
Candace and Justin‘s wedding was in Cincinnati, ohio at The Hughes Center Barn. Their day was the definition of what a marriage is all about ; love, laughter and family. They already made a commitment to each other long before this day and they’ve got three amazing children that they have raised in love together ; Evie, Maggie and Mylo. I love how they incorporated them into their day. Justin even stopped the ceremony to love on his girls. Which may have made me tear up a bit <3
After their ceremony we got some family pictures of the girls truly being flower girls and frolicking in the field of "flowers" and making wishes.
After we got pictures of the whole fam bam I snuck these two away to have some beers, make out in the field and do the thing that all Lakota kids do - try to find someone that you know in common. Thankfully we had an idea of where to start because a few people sent her my way. Which is the BEST way to book clients, because I know if people I love love them, its going to be a good time. Especially since Justin is actually a photographer and videographer and talked shop with me the whole time. Thanks for putting up with our shutterspeed and lens review convos during our shoot Kandace.
So thankful that the storm held off and left us with these dramatic skies <3
When my camera is charging you can find me playing with my little family or trying yummy new foods around the city.
I promise to tell horrible jokes and will probably be more awkward than you, but by the end of the day we will all be laughing. Which is how I get the real natural smiles that you see in my portfolio!
