When Jessica emailed me excited to start their "adventure together of building a family" I knew they were my kinda people. They love spending their time outdoors and walking at Fernbank park, so we decided to schedule a few weeks after Griffin's arrival to shoot outdoors safely.
GREAT CHOICE. My absolute Favorite shot for our session may be when I swaddled him in the grass like a baby deer. Yes I totally said that. They went with it. WORTH. <3
I hadnt been to Fernbank for a session before, since I grew up East side and live in Fairfield the West Side is like a whole new world for me. I need to see all of the hidden gems guys. Lets go explore <3
If someone says that they are wanting me to come shoot at their "little yellow Victorian" I pretty much know that I am going to love that person. So I was zero percent surprised to love the McNelis' family, but they are pretty darn awesome. Especially the youngest Mr. Micheal Owen. He is was sweet and snoozy for our Friday morning session. He was the snooziest baby and definitely wrinkled his forehead and gave me the "let me sleep, lady" look. Complete with little pursed lips that gave off his old soul vibe. He also liked to keeps his hands swaddle free to cup them under his chin, Which Kera said he also did in-utero. Its so cool to hear how their little personalities and habits are already so formed by the time they make their way to us <3
This sweet family of four - 2 parents and 2 pups welcomed little Lawson to the tribe. He was the most content little guy I have ever seen. After our session we came down and included the proud grandparents into the session too. One loved little dude.
Little itty baby details below. Be sure to keep scrolling for fingers and toes.
Amanda and Nathan are from Memphis, Tennessee but are putting down roots here in Cincinnati. I love how they incorporated Tennessee into Noah's nursery. Everything had a story behind it, even the rocking chair is an heirloom. <3 I met with them a few months ago for their maternity session. Where they twirled in a field, sipped cocoa and speculated if they were going to have a boy or a girl. This time they have their baby boy Noah in their hands, but the love is still the same.
Meet little miss Grey.
When Shelly told me that her name was Daphne but they were going to call her Grey my first thought was that she sounded like the lead in a good story. I feel like this collection of photos captures our Grey pretty darn well. Posed with her hand under her chin, legs crossed and a smirk .... and throwin up double middle fingers. Don't worry, you didnt miss that - its the next picture, look closely! :P
I was so excited that the Simciks chose to do a 6 month session for the boys because one of my favorite job perks is that I get to watch my littles grow. Some of their mannerisms are still the same and some of the photos I took are the spitting image from their newborn session. Its bitter sweet to see the comparison already.
In one of the above pictures you can see the octopuses that their grandma knitted because studies have shown that they can help premature babies. They are still a fan of the tentacles, especially eating them, so we definitely had to incorporate those in our session again too . <3
We had such a great time and at the end the boys both fell asleep at the same time. #parentwin !
THROWBACK TO 6 MONTHS AGO
This little man was born on the eve of Christmas eve and was home in time for Christmas, the best gift the Hughes could have asked for. I love that they brought the season into their session. His santa hat and the Christmas lights are perfect. Bonus points that he is adorable, I am in love with his head full of hair and pursed little lips. <3
Erin's and Stephen asked me to come take pictures of their 6 week old sweetheart Adalyn in Erin's parents home in Loveland. She had the sweetest smiles, sleepy yawns and a few smirks too. <3
ALSO LOOK AT THOSE CUTE LITTLE BABY FEETS!!!
Normally I name the blog posts after the newborn using their first name, but I realized that the entire session and in all of our emails we called Barrett by bear. So I have NO idea how to spell it. He just is bear, lol! I love all of the bear details that Amanda included because it made me feel some extra nostalgia for my little - also a bear. <3
I met Amanda and her family at their home in Colerain. This fall we only had two weekends of fall, and I am so glad their session fell on the perfect day. The leaves had just started falling and were LOVELY. Check out the colors.
I was really feeling the black and white edits this session too. So the gallery getting delivered is beyond huge. I think I did almost every image in a b+w too. That never happens.
When my camera is charging you can find me playing with my little family or trying yummy new foods around the city.
I promise to tell horrible jokes and will probably be more awkward than you, but by the end of the day we will all be laughing. Which is how I get the real natural smiles that you see in my portfolio!
