OKAY. I'M GOING TO DO IT
Click it up a Notch was the first blog I followed when I decided to make the transition from automatic to manual mode. Courtney explained photography the way that made the most sense to me - through beautiful photographs. When I first started reading up on the basics of manual I was so lost. Kelvin. White balance. Iso. Aperture. There is a reason why they say a picture is worth a thousand words & Click it up a notch masters the art of giving just enough information while letting the pictures speak for themselves.
Through reading her blog the magic that was lost when photography became "work" came back. I knew how I wanted my image to feel and could picture the result, it became more than numbers on my camera. Courtney took the guessing out of it. I became more comfortable in manual & realized how much easier it was to make the image mine. Honestly, I think it would have taken me twice as long to get comfortable with experimenting. Now that I have learned so much, I really want to push myself to the next level and get comfortable with my photography.
My biggest obstacle is that I feel that my images are not good enough to share. I am hoping this project will help me embrace that every image is not going to be composed, exposed + balanced to perfection. So I say to myself "Self, even if its complete rubbish technically, you may still love it at the end of the day & that's okay."
For the Project 365 I hope to capture...
I seem to be at a slight disadvantage due to my lack of children, pets or willing participants. In fact, the only living object in my house at the moment is a boy who tolerates being my subject for very short periods of time. I get six shots, tops. I think even I would get sick of 365 days of him playing video games SO that just means that I get to really get creative and get out of my house
Are you doing a project 365 too?
If so please comment and follow so that we can support each other.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I am a collector of moments & a lover of all the beautiful “things” in life. These include, but are not limited to; yoga pants, iced tea, cold sheets, lipstick, sunbeams and bokeh. Feel free to mosey about and become acquainted.
