My co-worker & awesome friend Christy ran The Flying Pig 1/2 marathon yesterday!
The past year she has really started to focus on herself and her happiness. Completing the half marathon is just one of the many things she has crossed off of her to-do list. It has really been an inspiration to see what you can accomplish if you really believe in yourself.
While waiting for Christy to hurry up & run her 13.1 miles I may have taken the opportunity to play my camera a bit.
The emotion of the runners and seeing the city so calm and quiet on a Saturday morning was so fun to capture. I noticed a few common traits that helped some of the marathoners stand out from the rest. The images below highlight some of the strength, support & silliness I saw. Yes silliness, check out some of these outfits!

@ MILE 6
@ THE FINISH LINE
26.2 FULL MARATHON FINISHERS
When the first full marathoner sprinted by I should have known he was coming by the cheering & helicopters, but I honestly didn't think anyone would be finishing anytime soon! Here are some of the first few finishers... minus first place because he was way too fast for me :D
Even though I was up long before the sun was, didn't even kind of plan appropriately in the shoe department and may have used Siri to get from mile marker to mile marker I had a blast.
Congratulations to all the runners that trained hard and came from near and far to visit the Queen City.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I am a collector of moments & a lover of all the beautiful “things” in life. These include, but are not limited to; yoga pants, iced tea, cold sheets, lipstick, sunbeams and bokeh. Feel free to mosey about and become acquainted.
