Creek sessions = *heart eyes*
My whole vibe for my sessions is pretty much do you while I take pictures of it. Choosing a location like a creek for your pictures means that you are bound to have some fun and make some magical memories.
When the whole family gets in on the fun
I always try to take mom and dad aside for a quick 5 minutes all of their own. You and your kids are going to love looking back at these pictures too. Its safe to say these two killed it.
I did a 15 minute sunflower mini for this mama and her two littlest out of 4. Logan and Noey were happy to get all of the snuggles and run through the maze of flowers. Loved exploring with you guys!
There is something magical about being in a field of sunflowers when a storm is brewing over head. It smells like rain, the yellow of the flowers pops, and the kiddos are quiet. Like really quiet.
I love that the girls were cuddly and wanting to be on their mama - it means that Tarra couldnt escape my camera. More than that though, I love that they were comfortable just being in front of my camera. Kinslee stopped and watched the storm clouds roll in as the wind blew the sunflowers. It was chilly, so she cuddled in on her sister and smelled the flowers while Addy held on to Tarra and ran her little hands through her hair or traced her arm. It was truly beautiful. I cannot wait for them to see all of the pictures from their mini session of us playing in the wildflowers <3
I was so excited to meet up with Kyle + Victoria again for Eloise 3 month pictures. Watching babies grow and getting to capture their first year is the best. They change so much between sessions that I cannot even believe it is the same baby sometimes. Look how big this schmoo got! (Did I spell it right?) :P
This session was extra special because they brought along Kyles (twin) brother Kirby and his wife Jennifer. When I came around the corner and thought I saw Kyle with a different wife I was a little confused. LOL. Double the babies = double the fun. Bryce is my spirit animal and is a big fan of the white non mess organic cheetos, so we got along great once he realized cooperating = yums.
OH MY GOSH. Can you believe the cuteness of these two!?
Joan is the youngest of her siblings and when she let me know that her sister was going to be in town we decided to do a session to capture a rare visit where they were reunited. I love that I was able to capture these real laughs as they shared their memories together.
I met up with the Scott family at Miami Whitewater here in Cincinnati, Ohio. When LC and I were deciding our session location, the one thing she mentioned was water. So we adventured and found a few different locations. Including a full on creek expedition at the end. Letting the kids just be kids is my kind of photography, plus the boys were down with our bribes that if they cheesed for a few they could splash in the creek and throw all of the rocks they wanted. I took their family pictures last year too, and I love getting to watch the boys grow. <3
Personal share : I figured as a photographer I should practice what I preach and have family pictures done before I blink and Ella is a toddler. I am so glad I did! Veritas Studio Photography did an awesome job. I'm so happy to have photos with me in them, because I literally have 3k+ of Ella.Which you are well aware of if you follow my personal Instagram :P
Everyone always tells me they want to have pictures done when they hit their goal weight or are more confident. Trust me, I had those thoughts before I scheduled our pictures too, but our littles dont stay little for long.So I am writing this post to say "Just do it." Do it now.
You can always take more later, but you will never have now again. Capture your family 😍 You never know how important a photo might be, until its too late. There are so many great photographers in our community, so if my pictures don't float your boat, that's OK! Find someone whose style you love and then fill your house with pictures of the ones you love!
When my camera is charging you can find me playing with my little family or trying yummy new foods around the city. I promise to tell horrible jokes and will probably be more awkward than you, but by the end of the day we will all be laughing. Which is how I get the real natural smiles that you see in my portfolio!
